Fitness and Benefits : Why Learn Jiu-Jitsu?

The benefits of learning Jiu-Jitsu are countless, but in particular it provides an invigorating way of keeping fit. A typical class will start with 30-40 minutes of warm up exercises and break-falls, and after burning off almost 400-600 calories, students will begin to learn techniques.

Other advantages of learning Jiu-Jitsu include greater self-discipline and self-confidence. Jiu-Jitsu can help an individual to project self assurance and confidence in a time where violence is becoming more prevalent and indiscriminate. Students of the art do not start fights and are always taught to justify their actions even in the most severe circumstances.
