(Key Techniques)
Atemi - Defensive/offensive strikes that, when implemented correctly, are used to neutralize the blow of an attacker.
Throws – Throwing techniques, coupled with distraction and destabilising methods, provide a system for stopping an attack instantly.
Ground Fighting – Perhaps one of the most important areas of self defence from the ground. The academy teaches the original Japanese Jiu-Jitsu techniques, which negate the advantage of an opponent with superior striking skills.
Locks and Takedowns – Takedown techniques, together with locking methods, offer a very effective way of disarming and disabling an opponent.
Break-fall (not necessary for Ladies or over 40s) - Breakfalls enable a Jiu-Jitsu student to fall and roll both correctly and safely by dissipating energy into the ground without injury.
